Meet Our Nashville Physicians

Ralph E. Wesley, M.D. | Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon

Founding Director of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Dr. Wesley has extensive experience in performing surgery and training surgeons for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. A graduate of Vanderbilt Medical School and fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital Surgery from Emory University in Atlanta, Dr. Wesley has written a book Techniques in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, published chapters and articles extensively as well as conducted research and teaching at Vanderbilt. He is Board Certified and has served in the Medical Corps and the U.S. Army Reserve. Dr. Wesley was elected President of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and was also elected President of the Nashville Academy of Medicine.

Kimberly A. Klippenstein, M.D. | Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon​

Dr. Klippenstein specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and upper face. She is the only surgeon member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in this area with a full two years accredited fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt under-graduate before Medical Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Dr. Klippenstein has extensive experience in cosmetic surgery and has published and lectured extensively as an Instructor at Vanderbilt Medical School. She gladly sees patients in consultation regarding cosmetic eyelid, brow and upper face-lift, and laser skin resurfacing.

Andrew G. Meador, M.D. | Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon

Dr. Meador is an ophthalmologist who specializes in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Mississippi, where he graduated as a member Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha, respectively. He performed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee’s Hamilton Eye Institute in Memphis, followed by a 2-year ASOPRS fellowship with Dr. Ralph Wesley in Nashville and Dr. Chris Fleming in Memphis. He has participated in numerous clinical research activities and has enjoyed international outreach opportunities in Panama and has delivered lectures at the College of Ophthalmology of Eastern Central and Southern Africa, along with participating in oculofacial resident training in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Dr. Meador is married to and directed by his wonderful wife Kate and is the proud owner of Jones, a golden retriever. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.

Stephen C. Dryden, M.D. | Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon

Dr. Dryden is an ophthalmologist who specializes in eyelid, upper face and eye socket surgery. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas and the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. He continued his medical training in Memphis, completing his internship at Methodist University Hospital and residency at the University of Tennessee Hamilton Eye Institute. While completing his 2 year oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship, he was appointed to the clinical faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Hamilton Eye Institute, where he also served on the medical staff at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and as a team ophthalmologist for the Memphis Grizzlies. He is married to his wife Jessica and proud father of 2 lovely daughters.
